Digital Musings

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce you to one of my absolute favorite digi ladies today ... Audrey Neal. I've been working with her since she began designing way back when and think she is fantastic. And I'm excited to say that she's asked me to officially join her new Creative Team. I'm so excited! She's unique - as a designer and as a person. She's an amazing storyteller and as you probably know one of the reasons that I scrapbook is to tell our family stories so we can remember the stories that make up our life.

So, I wanted to recommend that you check Audrey out a bit and I think you'll LOVE what she has to offer. She sells her designs (and offers classes) at {We Are Storytellers} which is a fantastic digi site. Their mission is to provide you with high quality digital scrapbooking supplies, inspiration, education and support to help you on your storytelling journey. It's a fabulous place that I highly recommend! I also think that Audrey's blog, be AUDacious, is one of the best blogs out there and I love reading it every day! If you haven't already visited, you SHOULD!!!

Tuesday Musings

It's officially beginning to look like spring in St. Louis and I'm so excited about it. We are all so tired of being cooped up in the house! Paul hasn't been feeling well today so when I got home me and the kiddos took a nice walk around the neighborhood. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed watching them play together. We met several of the neighbors around the corner and their puppies. The kids are suckers for a cute puppy! I have some photos to share but I'll get to that in a minute.

First, I have to share this adorable photo that I got of the kids on Sunday night as they laid on the floor in the playroom, playing with their Leapsters together. They were so cute all curled up together and helping each other. I was heading in to go do some laundry but waited because I didn't want to disrupt them when they were enjoying each others company so I snuck up and took this picture. They never even noticed I was there watching!

And, so, onto the photos from tonight. I have been really trying to learn my new camera (Canon Rebel XS which I adore but its not an 'easy' camera) and how to get the kinds of photos out of it that I want. I'm making progress and I can really see the difference in these shots that I got tonight ...

I love Dogwood's and this shot came out really nice if I do say so myself! Dogwoods always make me think of Mimi Robertson and home. Maybe because there were Dogwoods in her yard and its the state tree/flower of Virginia.

I love how the two of them are doing their own thing in this photo. Cracks me up.

Our Megs ... carrying around Candy (her puppy) as usual! She's her new favorite friend!

I'm not sure what's up with Alex's hair but I love love love this shot!

Okay, that's it for tonight. More to come as I'm sure we'll be outside more and more this week as it warms up even more. So, lots of pictures on the way!!!

Easter Musings

Happy Easter from the Melniczenko's! We've been busy coloring eggs, waiting for the Easter Bunny to arrive and then eating candy while we hunt for the eggs that the Easter Bunny left all over the house! Here are a few photos from Easter ...

Since Meighan has been obsessed with getting a pet lately and we're tired of saying NO over and over, we spoke to the Easter Bunny and he agreed to make sure that Meighan got a 'pet' of sorts for Easter. So, now she is the proud owner of a Fur Real puppy that she's named Candy. Candy moves her head and barks. She also has a cute pink purse that Meighan can carry her around in!
For Alex, the Easter Bunny must have heard about his new obsession with Wolverine from the X-Men since that is what he got!

Alex lost interest in hunting for eggs fairly quickly because he had Wolverine to play with, you know? So, Meighan was the official winner of the egg hunt. Here she is showing off some of her findings!

I hope that all of you had a happy Easter!

Friday Musings

Meighan and I had a great time this afternoon. We went to the used bookstore and picked up some books. Then, off to lunch, followed by a trip to buy me some new shoes. Then, we caught up with the boys at McDonald's for a little play area fun! As we watched them play, Paul and I talked about our afternoons and were amazed to realize that BOTH Meighan and Alex talked about each other constantly. They missed each other so much, in just a few hours. They both kept asking us where the other was and when we'd see them again. Meighan said over and over that she missed Alex and wanted to go see him.

I think it re-confirmed for us both that they are too young to be separated for very long. They just rely on each other so much and seem very 'out of sorts' when they are far from one another for long. I think it will change as they get a little older but for now, we feel like this is for the best.

They spent the rest of the evening tonight playing as if they'd been apart for days. Too cute.

Happy Day!

Meighan and I are off for an afternoon of girly fun - a trip to the used bookstore, maybe to buy Mommy some new shoes and then to the grocery store. Meanwhile, Alex and Daddy will be having an afternoon of boy fun - heading to the hardware store! Good day all around!
