New Layout: Musical Moments

This month's Simple Scrapper materials really have helped me create a layout that I wouldn't have created otherwise - the story starters that come with the membership always inspire me and I end up creating pages that I never knew I needed to do! This one is about my relationship with music over my life ...

New Layout to Share

I've been meaning to ensure this story is in our scrapbooks but just kept forgetting about it ... so it was time to get this one documented. Looking at this 5 year old photo amazes me. She's grown up SO much in five years. It meant a lot to me to be with her when she got this piercing done.

I LOVE the material from July's Simple Scrapper membership materials! I used one of the templates for this layout (all of the templates rock this month). I know I say it over and over but I am so thankful to be a part of the Simple Scrapper community!

New Layouts to Share

Hi all! Sorry it's taken me awhile to update the blog. The last few weeks have been crazy with getting ready for our 9 day cruise in the Caribbean! We just got back last night ... and had a BLAST! But, I have created a few layouts that I did want to be sure to share here ...

Meighan and her cousin, Jenna, are so much alike so I had to create this layout using a photo that I was able to get of them together at Easter! I love how this one came together!

I have been working (slowly but surely) on our 2014 Alaska Cruise vacation album and the template/story starter in this month's Simple Scrapper membership materials (learn more here) were perfect for what I was hoping to do, especially with the first couple of pages! I need to keep working on this one so I can get started on the 2015 cruise album! HAHA!

Two New Layouts

Here are my two layouts using the Simple Scrapper membership materials for May 2015. I always find myself tellin stories that I don't think I would have without the Simple Scrapper Story Starters. Those alone are worth the membership fee and that's just the tip of the iceberg!

This layout explores my journey with faith ... this is something that I definitely needed to document but had struggled with the best way to do so. The Simple Scrapper story starter was just what I needed to get this layout done!

Layout: Evolution

It's that time again ... Simple Scrapper's March 2015 materials will be coming soon and I'm having a great time playing with them. I know that I say it every month but I think the membership is well worth the cost and I definitely recommend you check it out here. Anyway, on to the layout - this month's Story Starters focus on social media and technology so I decided to document my Smart Phone evolution. I believe this will be a layout that I'll love to look back on in the future!

New Layout: Mighty Mile

This layout tells the story of Meighan's first race ... The Mighty Mile at Reston Town Center. This was intended to give her a sense of what a race was like since she had her 5K coming up! She has worked so hard in Running Club and did so well! I am so happy with how this layout ended up!  I used a Story Starter and Template from the Simple Scrapper Membership materials. They make creating fantastic pages so easy!  I can't recommend the membership more enthusiastically! It's a fantastic value!

Layout Share: Writing Clues

I've been wanting to create a page about Alex writing clues on a worksheet this summer. Each clue tells so much about who he is and what he thinks about things! It is hilarious and gives me a sneak peek into his little world! This template comes from December 2014's Simple Scrapper membership materials.

Layout: Christmas Magic

I'm suddenly feeling very inspired to scrapbook but haven't been feeling well enough to spend much time actually creating layouts. However, I was so inspired by this month's Simple Scrapper membership materials that I sat down tonight and created this layout that tells about the magic of last year's Christmas with my family. Just seeing all of these photos together reminded me how lucky I am to have these people in my life ... I am so fortunate to have 4 amazing parents, 1 very cool sister, 1 wonderful husband and 3 beautiful children.

Layout Share - Meighan's First 5K

I have a new layout to share using the September membership materials from Simple Scrapper. This is one of the templates included and it's fantastic! I've been trying to figure out the best way to document Meighan's first 5K earlier this year and as soon as I saw this template, I knew it was the right one! I love how it turned out!

I just finished two new layouts using the Simple Scrapper July membership material! I am excited to share them ...

And the second commemorates our family's first broken bone - Meighan's wrist a couple of months ago!

New Layouts for Simple Scrapper

I love this month's Simple Scrapper monthly membership materials! They are fantastic! I know that I say it every month, but I can't recommend this membership more highly. It's really made a huge difference in my scrapbooking! One of this month's layouts is all about Sami's high school graduation last year and another about our recent vacation to Alaska and how amazing it was to take an adult only vacation together for the first time since our honeymoon 13 years ago!

Two New Layouts to Share

Here are my most recent layouts, both used the May membership materials from Simple Scrapper! As I mention every month, I can't recommend the membership more! It's such a great deal!

So here we go - the first is all about our little peas in a pod, the twins. I just LOVE this photo and had to take a moment to document how very 'two peas in a pod' these two are today and have been since the womb!

And then a new layout all about Meighan and Paul attending the 2014 Girl Scout Father Daughter Dance and having a blast together!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit!

New Layout to Share

I wanted to share my most recent scrapbook page which I created using the April Simple Scrapper membership materials and thought I'd share it! This is a page I've been meaning to do awhile about Meighan's best friend in Missouri who she still talks about two years later! I wanted to be sure to document this friendship since it was one of her first best friendships! Thanks for looking!

New Layout - You Today

I just finished up a new page using the April Simple Scrapper membership materials and thought I'd share it! Alex is really coming into his own and I'm loving the person he's becoming! He's such a cool little kid and I wanted to document some of the great things about him right now ... at 9 years old! He's getting ready to start his first season of baseball which should be fun! He's never really expressed much interest in sports so we jumped at signing him up for baseball when he mentioned he'd like to play. Can't wait to see him explore something new! Alex is so many things - creative, funny, and smart to name just a few. My favorite thing about him, however, is he is KIND. It makes me so proud that he is a kind and thoughtful boy!  I feel so lucky to be his mom!

Two New Layouts to Share

I'm so excited to share two new layouts that I created with the March membership materials over at Simple Scrapper! I love them both and I'm so happy with how they turned out!

As I'm getting closer and closer to 40 years old, I wanted to be sure to document how I'm feeling about aging so I did this with this layout.

And when I saw this template (part of the membership materials), I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to document 39 facts about ME for my album in the last year of my 30s! It was fun to create it and document so many things about myself!

34 Things Blog Party (and a Giveaway)

Jennifer Wilson at Simple Scrapper has started a new blog series entitled Thirty Four Things I Want You To Know About Me and I thought I'd join in! This 34 Things blog party is focused on celebrating all about me scrapbooking and Jennifer's upcoming Big Picture Classes workshop, Before Your Story.  I decided to participate in the blog series by documenting 34 stories I intend to tell in the childhood album that I am planning to complete this year (as part of Jennifer's Before Your Story class)!

Thirty-four stories from my childhood -

1. Learning how to ride a bike
2. Winning the Best All Around Student at the 5th Grade Assembly
3. My love of Cabbage Patch dolls
4. Being a Brownie Girl Scout
5. My Mimi's VW bugs
6. The bookshelf Papa built for all of my books
7. The dollhouse my Dad built (and decorated) for me (it was AMAZING)
8. Playing softball
9. Spending entire weekends reading at my grandparents house (lots of Sweet Valley High books were read during that time)
10. How I chose what college to attend
11. Taking my first plane ride alone to visit my Dad and my Mom giving me a green CareBear to take with me on the trip
12. Visiting Scotland with Dad and Nina
13. Meeting Paul
14. Summer vacations at the beach with my Mom and her side of the family
15. My mom surprising me at the river with Tracie (she hit in the floorboard of the front seat and jumped out to surprise me)
16.Reading Little Women with my mom
17. Me and Tracie being 'the biting girls'
18. My decision to major in social work
19. The river - sticky floors, sleeping on the chaise lounge on the back porch, playing baseball, sitting on the porch playing cards and so much more
20. I was in the forensics club in high school
21. First boyfriend in elementary school
22. Going to the park and running on paths and exploring the woods for hours
23. Roller skating (especially the green skate skirt and the skates with green wheels)
24. Dad's sailboat
25. My high school obsession with New Kids on the Block, particularly Joey McIntyre
26. Going to camp at Lake Saranac and Lake Champion
27. Meeting my sister, Elizabeth
28. Beach week with Lynn
29. Visiting San Francisco in 1990
30. Christmas at Mimi and Papa's house
31. Crabbing at the main beach in Reedville
32. Voting in my first presidential election
33. Going to Disney with Mom, Dad, Mimi and Papa
34. Grandaddy's pipe

And so those are just 34 of the many stories that I plan to tell in my childhood album. I am so looking forward to participating in Jennifer's Big Picture workshop, Before Your Story, to begin putting this album together! In Before Your Story you’ll learn a simple approach to autobiographical scrapbooking and create an album that captures your story, from birth to adulthood. Class begins February 27.

Are you interested in winning a spot in Before Your Story at Big Picture Classes?

ENTER TO WIN by leaving a COMMENT on this post telling me a story you’d want to document from your own childhood or adolescence. I’ll pick a winner on February 14th and announce it here on the blog!

About the Class
There are milestone events in life, such as marriage and motherhood, that divide us permanently into a “before” and an “after.” It’s easy to become so immersed in the after—the glorious here and now—that our “befores” rarely appear in our scrapbooks.

In this 6-week workshop with Jennifer Wilson of simplescrapper.com, you’ll have all the guidance you need to tell your growing-up story in one gorgeous 12″ x 12″ pocket album. Her class combines the ease of slipping photos and journaling cards into photo sleeves with the brilliance of Stacy Julian’s “Library of Memories” scrapbooking categories.

Jennifer excels at making big goals reachable and overwhelming projects finish-able, with her step-by-step processes and detailed planning worksheets. You’ll complete a simple, streamlined album that will help your spouse or partner catch up on the years leading up to the moment you met. Or, it’s the perfect answer to that age-old question, “Mom, what were you like when you were my age?”
